Unilab No Surprise Billing
Billing and Insurance Policy
On January 1, 2022, the No Surprise Billing Act went into effect. This bill was created to protect patients from incurring excessive out-of-pocket costs. The Act states that patient's financial responsibility for payments and deductibles should be the same for both in- and out-of-network providers.
Our Policy is Transparent
We accept whatever is paid by your insurance company
Your cost should not exceed our cash pricing indicated for each test
Cash pricing was determined using professional pricing guidelines
The Process is Simple
Your healthcare provider orders a test and sends your sample to Unilab.
Once your sample is received, we verify your insurance and estimate your financial responsibility.*
If your financial responsibility exceeds our cash pay price, we will contact you to discuss your payment options.
If there is a balance according to your insurance plan, Unilab will send you a bill with your remaining financial responsibility.
*Insurance verification and financial eligibility estimates do not apply for same-day testing.
